For those not aware it is this competition that allows for bands from 11 states on the East Coast to perform and 'yes' be in competition for the title of the #1 band on the East Coast. There are 25 bands in each *Group* at the ACC's based on the number of members in the band, and there are *Divisions* divided within each state. Competing bands and there are many, work the entire fall season with practices and travel to competitions and compete to earn the score needed to be invited to the ACC's. We are a Division Two band, and we are a small band, but not the smallest! We brought home a Bronze Plaque as our placement award!
(the all important logo that appears on all things affiliated with the competition)
(gray skies bring rain, and it did)
(lined up and waiting to take the field)
(the salute by the drum major (we love Rosie) and we are ready to begin)
The rain clouds as we loaded to leave for the competition are exactly as you see, they are rain clouds and it rained and rained somemore. Even our rain ponchos could not keep us dry, fortunately it was not cold during the competition. Would I do it again in the rain (?) for sure! Do the kids perform their best in the pouring as hard as it can rain (?) nope, but they give it all they have! The band members are the best (IMHO) and I will continue to attend their function as often as I can, and cheer on *our WILDCATS*...it is made even more special with the fact that two grandchildren are part of this wonderful band! Yep *two older grandchildren* were members of this band, and now *two younger grandchildren* are members of this band!
