big chunk of my day...

Another early celebration of *Independence Day*, a parade! In my area the small towns are within a few miles of each other, and fortunately they do not have the *Fourth of July* celebrations scheduled in the same time frame and in competition with each other! The folks in charge kindly spacing them out over a couple of weekends ☺, and making it doable for residents in our area to attend many events if a person would wish too.

(the town is full of flags and flowers in planters)

(small plane fly-overs)

(marching bands, *sweet granddaughter* with this band)

(*delightful grandson* marching with the band, today it was the cymbals, he loves percussion and plays whatever is needed ☺)

(antique firewagon, there were several)

The parade was two hours long, the weather was great, and included many bands, military groups, veterans, antique cars, firetrucks and so much more the list could be endless! It was an enjoyable "chunk of my day" and seeing all of the entries in the parade reminds of us of the real reason for INDEPENDENCE DAY, and the *celebrations* for that reason!

I love small towns and the way they celebrate. Good time to catch up with friends. Give me small town living anyday.
